Calamondin limes are very small, tart fruits that are a cross between a
sour, loose-skinned mandarin and a kumquat, technically classifying it
an orangequat.
Calamondin limes, even when fully ripe, are extremely tart, sour, and acidic.
Its botanical name has three accepted classifications including Citrus madurensis, Citrus
mitis, and Citrus microcarpa.
